About the role:

The Skip supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the skip haulage business, including the commercial aspects of skip contamination and waste segregation. This role will involve overseeing the efficient and effective delivery of skip haulage services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing the recovery and recycling of waste materials.

Responsibilities:

· Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of skip delivery and collection vehicles to meet customer demands.

· Monitor the performance of the haulage fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and operated safely.

· Optimize route planning and efficiency.

· Implement and monitor operational procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

· Communicate regularly with the yard shunter to ensure adequate management of skip stock levels.

· Develop and implement strategies to minimize skip contamination and improve waste segregation.

· Establish and maintain relationships with the sales team to understand the waste management needs and preferences of customers

· Provide guidance and training to staff on proper waste segregation practices.

· Oversee the implementation of waste segregation processes at the company's facilities.

· Manage the re-charging process to customers for skip contamination and waste segregation services.

· Analyse customer data and market trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.

· Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement commercial strategies.

· Ensure the timely and accurate invoicing of customers for skip haulage and related services.

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency and profitability of the skip haulage operation.

· Collect and analyse operational and financial data, providing regular reports to the management team.

· Participate in the development and implementation of the company's strategic plans and objectives.

· Work from other depots within the group and operate other vehicles when required.

· Report all accidents and incidents immediately to your fleet office or the Compliance Team and obtain details and complete investigations as required.

About you:

Essentials:

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a logistics or industrial setting.

· Vocational licence to operate skip loaders and hookloaders.

Desirable:

· Category C+E licence would be advantageous.
